SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Antiochos III ‘the Great’, 222-187 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 17.26 g, 12 h), 'rose mint', perhaps Edessa, circa 213-205. Diademed head of Antiochos III to right. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - ANTIOXOY Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding arrow in his right hand and resting his left on grounded bow. ESM 392. SC pl. 57, 1121.1 (same obverse die). A beautiful example with a sharply struck portrait. A few very light marks, otherwise, extremely fine.
